More Hints Of 3G iPod Touch?

There has been a continuous stream of rumors suggesting that the next generation iPod Touch will support 3G.
iDownloadBlog reader spotted a page on Apple’s website where an image displaying an iPod Touch with 3G signal indicator. Whether this was an actual leak or an innocent mistake by a designer isn’t known, but Apple has rectified the mistake on it’s U.S. website.
At the time of writing this post, the Apple UKÂ site and a few other Apple websites for India, Singapore etc. still display the old graphic showing the iPod Touch with the 3G indicator highlighted with a red circle in the image below:
Apple has fixed the issue on it’s U.S. website. The image now sports an iPod touch on Wi-Fi.
Mistakes in images and videos isn’t something new for Apple. When the iPad launched, its video indicated that the device is capable of playing Flash videos on The New York Times website, when in fact it wasn’t. Apple later fixed the issue and showed the familiar plugin missing image in the video.
Evidence of a 3G iPod Touch was also discovered in iOS 5 beta 4 that was seeded to developers last week. Is this too much of a coincidence? Or is Apple gearing up to launch a 3G iPod Touch? Let us know what you think in the comments.
