Apple’s inspirational co-founder Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple’s CEO. Though it was not completely unexpected it still came as a shock to us and we’re sure to many of you as well.

The goods news is that we’re hearing reports that Steve Jobs who has been elected as the Chairman of the board, will remain actively involved in developing major future products and strategy, while Tim Cook runs the day to day operations as Apple’s new CEO.

Steve Woznaik who had founded Apple with Steve Jobs had this to say about Steve Jobs:

“He’s probably going to be remembered for the next hundred years as the best business leader of our time. He will watch the company for a while, [and] hope it’s on such a good track… for a company as large as Apple, corporate culture doesn’t change overnight. The quality of the people doesn’t change.”

Here are some golden moments of Steve Jobs’ incredible career:

Steve Jobs demos Apple Macintosh, 1984:

Macworld Boston 1997 – The Microsoft Deal

The First iMac Introduction (1998)

The First iPod Keynote (2001)

Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech (2005)

Introducing the First iPhone (2007)

Introducing the First iPad (2010)

We hope that we can witness more of Steve Jobs’ golden moments in the future as Apple’s Chairman. If you feel we’ve missed on any of them, then please drop us a line in the comments.

ErgoSlider Offers a New Mouse Alternative

Zothecula writes “First achieving widespread use with the release of the Apple Macintosh in 1984, the humble computer mouse has reigned supreme as the digital pointing device of choice for more than 20 years. During this time it has seen off countless pretenders to the throne, as well as undergoing some useful (and otherwise) redesigns such as Apple’s Magic Mouse, Microsoft’s Arc, the 3D-Spheric-Mouse, the AirMouse and the Orbita. The latest product to take a shot at the title is the Ergo-Slider Plus+, a device that looks like a padded wrist rest, but with a cylinder at the front that rolls and slides in a special groove to move the onscreen cursor.” It reminds me of the Isopoint pointing device in the long-passed Apple-compatible Outbound Laptop.
