So in case you missed them, here is a detailed roundup of all the rumors and speculations about Apple’s new iPad.
We had initially heard rumors that iPad 2 come with a super high 2048*1536 screen resolution just like iPhone 4’s gorgeous retina display. But now we’re hearing that the resolution of the display will be similar to the first generation iPad and may come with an anti-reflection screen.
Apple is likely a faster [ARM] Cortex-A9 dual core processor in iPad 2 running at 1.2GHz.
iPad 2 may get a new version of Apple’s A4 chip (possibly dubbed A5 or A8), which uses the dual-core SGX535 GPU from Imagination Technologies.
References in iOS 4.3 have also indicates that Apple is planning to use the more powerful SGX543 GPU in the 2nd generation iPad.
Beta versions of iOS 4.3 contain references, which have suggested that the second generation iPad will get a front facing camera and also come pre-installed with Apple’s FaceTime, Camera and Photo Booth app.
The front-facing camera could turn out to be a VGA unit for Apple’s FaceTime video calling feature.
Size and Weight:
iPad 2 is expected to be thinner and lighter than the original iPad. iPad 2 could also get a lightweight carbon fiber body.

If the photo of what folks at 9 to 5 Mac claim is the front panel of iPad 2 is to be believed then it looks like the 2nd generation iPad may also come in white.
iPad 2 may come with a 3-axis gyroscope like iPhone 4, which would be a great boon to iPad gamers as it will improve motion gaming experience.
Apple may use the dual GSM/CDMA chipsets produced by Qualcomm instead of the Infineon chipset used in the original iPad so that iPad 2 is also compatible with AT&T and Verizon’s CDMA network.
We’ve heard rumors that iPad 2 will be available only by the end of March or early April. However, recent reports indicate that Apple’s 2nd generation iPad could be available as early as tomorrow or next week.
