New iPhone 4 Ad Highlights Improved Battery Life

iPhone 4 commercial

One of the things that users who have upgraded from an iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS to the latest iPhone 4 will easily notice is the longer battery life on the newer model. Unlike the older iPhones that hardly lasted a day under heavy usage, the new iPhone does a pretty good job with respect to its battery life.

Not too surprisingly then, Apple’s latest iPhone 4 commercial is all about the longer battery life.

The new ad talks about the ability of iPhone 4 to do various tasks for a longer period of time.

The voice-over in the commercial tells us that “the world’s thinnest smartphone” will let you “work longer, play longer, laugh longer, listen longer, shoot, edit, share, update, download, read, write and even FaceTime longer“.

Check out the video of the commercial below:

It is interesting to note that Apple has made quite a conspicuous turn away from their “an app for that” commercials over the past few months. The move is presumably because the volume of third party apps on the App Store is no longer a competitive edge for Apple. Though rival platforms like the Android still lag behind iOS in terms of the absolute number of third party applications on offer, users on these platforms now enjoy the same diversity of apps that has long defined the iOS App Store. Also, Android smartphones like the HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Captivate are quite notorious for their poor battery life. Apple’s new commercial could thus strike the right chord among the target audience who are contemplating a new smartphone purchase.

Do you like this new iPhone 4 ad? How would you compare the battery life on iPhone 4 to your older iPhone? Tell us in the comments.
