Apple Integrates Ping With Twitter

While Apple’s attempt to integrate Ping with FaceBook might have hit the roadblock, that isn’t the case with Twitter.

Earlier today, Twitter announced the news that Apple has integrated Ping, Apple’s music-focused social networking platform with Twitter making it easier for users to share music with their friends and followers on Twitter.

In a blog post announcing the integration, Twitter said:

“Twitter users now send over 95 million Tweets a day, many of which are about the music they’re listening to. Starting today Ping, iTunes’ new social network for music, and Twitter are making it even easier for people to share music discoveries with their friends by putting Ping activity, song previews and links to purchase and download music from the iTunes Store right in their Tweets on Twitter.comâ€

As mentioned in the blog post, the integration of Ping would allow users to easily share music, display each others’ activities and discuss music related stuff. You would also be able to listen to song previews and get links to purchase and download music from the iTunes Store right from within tweets, which is pretty cool.

All you need to do for connecting your Ping account with Twitter is to sign into Twitter from within your Ping account and link the account with your Twitter ID. You can then find people who are on Ping that you already follow on Twitter.

Once the linking of ID’s is done, here’s how it works:

“Whenever you Post, Like, Review, or tell your friends why you purchased a song or album on Ping, this activity will also be tweeted to your Twitter followers – complete with playable song previews and links to purchase and download music from iTunes. When you click on a Tweet that’s sent via Ping or that contains an iTunes link, you’ll see the song or album in Twitter’s details pane, with the ability to listen to song previews from iTunes, making the experience even richer.â€
